Celebrating the life of Guru Nanak

Guru Nanak Dev Ji led a regular life, marrying Sulkhni, and had two sons, Sri Chand and Lakhmi Das. His sister's husband managed to get him a job as manager of the government granary in Sultanpur. Through it all, however, he continued his religious studies. When he reached the age of 28, he went to the river one morning, as usual, to bathe and meditate. It is believed that this was when he was initiated by Kabir in his astral form into the mysteries of the beyond. The Guru then disappeared for three days, and returned with the spirit of God within him. 'There is no Hindu and no Muslim,' said the Guru, as he began his missionary work.
