Celebrating the life of Guru Nanak

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji (October 20, 1469 to May 7, 1539) is the founder of Sikhism and first of the 10 Sikh Gurus. He was born in Talwandi Talwandi -- now Nankana Sahib, near Lahore in present-day Pakistan -- to Kalu Mehta and Matta Tripat, Hindus belonging to the Khatri caste. Sikhs the world over celebrate November 15 as his birth anniversary, with 2005 being the 536th.
