2006's top Telugu heroes

December 28, 2006

Venkatesh

Venkatesh too has been around in the film industry for two decades now. His Lakshmi, one of the Sankranti releases early this year, topped the charts perhaps because it was packaged well with emotions, a soft dose of violence and good music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. This family entertainer perhaps won 'Victory' Venkatesh the crowds. Paired with the Malayalee beauty Nayantara for the first time, Venkatesh pulled off a huge hit.

Subsequently Venky took a six-month break -- something almost unheard of -- before embarking on his next project, Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule. It was an interesting love story against a family backdrop, in which he is paired with Trisha. Tamil director Selva Raghavan helmed the film.

Venky now looks for challenging roles and likes working with young directors. The star continues to be deeply spiritual.
