Indian-Americans make their presence felt at Democratic Convention

August 26, 2008
Kaine was all of praise for Chopra saying, "I value your service to my cabinet, but broadly to the Commonwealth of Virginia and to the nation".

"You got more friends in politics than I do. And most of them are Democrats but you reach across all -- you are a special guy".

He said, "The contributions of Indian Americans in Virginia are so palpable in so many areas".

"In every area, the Indian American community in Virginia is doing great work. With Aneesh and others, we are getting to the point now, we are really pushing political involvement and political leadership and you are such a valued part of our Democratic family nationally and in Virginia".
