Parkinson's disease: Yoga to the rescue
April 11, 2007
One of those who participated, Trivedi, (first name withheld on request), was diagnosed with Parkinson's four years ago. He was almost on the verge of chronic depression but that was before he attended the first yoga sessions conducted by Iyengar Yogashraya.
After those sessions, he has reclaimed his lost zeal for life, which was evident during Wednesday's session.
Speaking to rediff.com, Trivedi said, "There are some diseases that are cured by medication alone and Parkinson's is one of them. These yoga sessions were highly beneficial to me."
