The CBI says Anees planned the bomb blasts in Mumbai by training saboteurs, distributing arms, ammunition and explosives to other co-conspirators.
In the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, it was alleged in the special court that Anees sent four of his associates to actor Sanjay Dutt's home and delivered three AK-56 rifles.
Anees is also an accused in the murders of music mogul Gulshan Kumar and builder Pradeep Jain.
He was arrested in Bahrain in 1996. But before the CBI could reach the country and argue for his extradition, a member of the UAE royal family allegedly bailed him out.
