Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar.

Age: 47.

Wanted: For the Mumbai bomb blasts, 1993.

Reward: Rs 15 lakhs

The US treasury department describes Dawood Ibrahim a global terrorist.

'For the Ibrahim syndicate, the business of terrorism forms part of their larger criminal enterprise, which must be dismantled,' the treasury department said in a 2003 notification.

Ibrahim is India's most notorious crimelord. At home in India, he is wanted for the 1993 bombings in Mumbai. The CBI fact-sheet on him accuses Ibrahim as the 'main conspirator' of the Mumbai blasts.

Ibrahim has found common cause with Al Qaeda, sharing his smuggling routes with the terror syndicate. He is also known to have financed the activities of Lashkar-e-Tayiba, the Pakistan-based terrorist group, perpetuating insurgency in Kashmir.

Ibrahim, these days, is said to be living in Karachi. But the operations of his D-Company are controlled from Dubai. His 'business empire' runs across countries like Sri Lanka, Singapore, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Nigeria and Ghana.
