Velupillai Prabhakaran.

Age: 50.

Reward: No reward declared.

Wanted: In the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

Prabhakaran, who has been waging an armed struggle for an independent Tamil state, is the main suspect in former Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassination on May 21, 1991.

In 1995, India requested the Sri Lankan government for the extradition of Prabhakaran, LTTE intelligence chief Pottu Amman and Akila, chief of the LTTE women's wing chief.

But it is not going to be easy.

One, no extradition treaty exists between India and Sri Lanka.

Two, no one really knows where Prabhakaran lives.

Three, even if the Sri Lankan government knew where Prabhakaran is, it may not be in a position to extradite him.

Four, Sri Lankan officials say India's evidence for the LTTE terrorist's extradition is insufficient and may not stand scrutiny in the country's courts.
