I was part of the Delhi tableaux that was based on the life of Sufi saint Amir Khusro. I sang Khusro's poems as a qawwali.
I have been working with various theatre groups for about a decade. Four years ago, I got the opportunity to participate in the Republic Day parade for the first time. Since then I have been coming here regularly.
Last year our tableaux was on Delhi's Metro Rail. This time we focussed on Sufism. I wait for this event throughout the year. I keep thinking how to make it different. We have to think of various themes.
It is not easy to be selected for the Republic Day parade. It gives you a good feeling to be part of the national festival. We try to give our best. The whole nation watches you. I feel proud of it.
