The immigration activists could think of no better way than another Freedom Ride to draw attention to the fight for the right to be treated as equals.

One immigrant, Jayapal, in an interview to India Abroad (a rediff.com publication) said, "We are calling it the Freedom Ride because it is inspired by and based on the civil rights movement of the sixties. We are fighting for the same freedom, but the context has changed."

Here, New Jersey Governor James McGreevey is addressing the Freedom Ride participants.
