Raj Singh Chuadhary
Role: I play Dilip Singh, who cannot stand up for himself. He cries at the drop of a hat. His parents mollycoddle him even though he is 28 years old. It's this guy who realises that the college politics in his college is taking a big turn and getting dangerous now. This is also about his love story.
Working with Anurag: A friend of mine, who was acting in Paanch, organised my meeting with Anurag. I had written a short story on college ragging and showed that to Anurag. Anurag asked me where I belonged and where this story could be based. I said Rajasthan. Anurag and I then went to Rajasthan, and after that, parted ways.
Anurag took that story idea, rewrote it and made it Gulaal. Gulaal is completely different from what I had written even thought ragging is the initial part of it. I became the co-writer of the film.
Gulaal opened many doors for me, as many people saw the rushes. Thanks to that, I bagged three films. Gulaal was in making for two years although it feels that it was in the making for four-five years. We did not have a producer for a long time.
