'It feels great to be called a star at this age'

At 11, Avika Gor is the youngest bahu on Indian television, and by far, the most popular one. Her television show Balika Vadhu has become a big hit, and a lot of the credit goes to Avika. The child has already become a star at this young age, and won quite a few awards.

Rajul Hegde caught up with Avika despite her very busy schedule, and got to know her better.

Did you know that Balika Vadhu was about child marriage?

I didn't know about it earlier. I came to know about it when I started doing the show. I don't know what child marriage is, I only know that it should not happen. But I am very happy that I am doing this show.

Your character Anandi has quickly become a household name. How has life changed after Balika Vadhu?

It feels good, as more and more people want to talk to me now. I am very thankful that I got this opportunity to show my talent -- my happiness and my emotional side.

When I go out, people come to me and ask if I am Anandi. It feels great to be called a star at this age.
