Calendar, directed by former actor Mahesh, has generated a lot of interest, thanks to its casting coup.
The film has yesteryear heroine Zarina Wahab making a comeback into Malayalam films after more than two decades. She plays the lead, along with Prithviraj and Navya Nair.
"Frankly, Zarina Wahab was not the initial choice for the film, as we were not sure whether she would like to make a return to Malayalam cinema," sayd Mahesh. "But we were really thrilled when she gave the nod after hearing the story."
Zarina has played some memorable roles in more than 15 Malayalam films like Madanolsavam, Chamaram, Palangal and Saravarsham. She quit films after her marriage to actor Aditya Panscholi and is now busy acting in television serials.
