I'd been getting loads of television offers for many years. If I had accepted those, I would have become a veteran. But it was a conscious decision stay away from TV and films. But when they offered me Ghar Ki Baat Hai, I had no reason to say no. I didn't want to do television but I said yes because of Shah Rukh Khan and Red Chillies Idiot Box. The package and concept was too good to resist.

This is a comedy show. How good are you at comedy?

I have been doing theatre for a long time so I get my comic timing right most of the time. But you need to ask Ali Asgar and Swapnil Joshi this question.

How is it working for Shah Rukh Khan's production house? Does he come on the sets?

Yes, he does come to the sets and gets involved personally. He is extremely nice and he sees to it that his stars are comfortable.
