'When I grow up, I want to be like Preity'

Danny Boyle's critically accalimed film Slumdog Millionaire has shown the world a glimpse into the lives of slumdwellers in Mumbai. The film follows the lives of three children -- Jamal, Salim and Latika -- born in the slums, trying to survive.

Playing the youngest Latika is Rubina Rafiq Qureshi, 9, born in the slums herself. She lives with her family near the railway tracks, near Bandra, in suburban Mumbai.

As I make my way to her shanty, I see naked children playing in the mud, ladies fighting a bunch of young lads, just hanging around.
