Though Prem Kumar had a string of hits in Nenapirali, Jothe Jotheyalli and Pallakki, he could not consolidate his position because of the failures of later films.
He is confident however that Ghauththam would provide him a platform to establish himself in the big league.
"Ghauththam is a family story. The producers have not spared any efforts to make it a likeable film. The songs will be the major highlight of the film," says Prem Kumar.
He is paired with Malayali girl, Sara in the film. Sara had acted in the Malayalam film De Ingottu Nokkiye directed by Balachandra Menon last year.
Kokila Mohan and Kausalya who hail originally from Bangalore but who had established well in the Tamil film industry, are doing special roles in the film. Anant Nag, Sudharani and Ramesh Bhat play other important roles in the film.
