After Venkatesh tasted success with his Lakshmee, Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule and Thulasi last year, the Telugu actor is back with Chintakayala Ravi, his only release this year.
He is one of those superstars with an endearing nature and pleasant disposition even after two decades in the business of acting. With a spiritual bent of mind, it is not surprising to see books of Ramana Maharishi, Osho and others in his room at his studios.
Read on as the actor talks about his latest film, which is slated on October 1.
Chintakayala Ravi seems to revolve around the story of a software engineer. What attracted you to the movie?
After a violent action movie like Thulasi, I wanted to do something light. Chintakayala Ravi had a simple line. I felt the backdrop could be shifted to America as it would make better sense. I thought it would help the film and not fundamentally change it.
The character is interesting -- innocent, lovable with a bit of laziness in him. The responsibilities and his inability to shoulder them is identifiable.
There is a mother-son relationship angle too. The elements are padded well in a simple line. There is no action. Vishal-Shekhar are composing the music.
