Aamna Shariff made her debut in the Balaji Telefilms' serial Kahiin To Hoga. She has done advertisements, music videos, a South Indian film and a couple of Pakistani serials too. In Kahiin, she was popular for her role as Kashish and her chemistry with Rajeev Khandelwal.
Though Aamna never accepted that she was seeing Rajeev, they were always considered a couple. She says that, being a girl from conservative Muslim family, it took eight months to convince her mom to allow her to do an ad! And, even now, she will not do a film that she could not watch with her family.
Aamna will debut in her first Bollywood film Aloo Chaat, in which she plays the female lead opposite Aftab Shivdasani. The film is produced by Anuj Saxena's production company Maverick Productions and is scheduled for a December release.
What is Aloo Chaat about?
Aloo Chat has all the ingredients (masalas) of chaat. It's a fun film, but realistic. It is not an out and out comedy, but has situational comedy, and there is no overacting in it.
It's a character driven film, not just about Aftab and me. We all have worked hard to do justice to our roles. Hope it works for us.
