Another brilliant film by K Viswanath and Kamal Hassan where Kamal played a gifted classical dancer who does not achieve the desired level of success.

Jayaprada was the leading lady. The highlight of the film was the dances by both Kamal and Jayaprada. It was later dubbed into Tamil as Salangai Oli.

Saagara Sangamam also won many awards for Kamal Hassan including the Best Actor award at the Asian Film Festival.
