Kamal Haasan is one actor who has acted in all the south Indian languages as well as in Hindi and Bengali.
As we await his Tamil blockbuster, Dasavathaaram, we cast a glance at some of his important Kannada and Telugu films:
Kokila (1977)
Kamal was paired opposite National award winner, late Shobha (she committed suicide at a very young age) in Balu Mahenadra's first film.
Mohan, who later became a successful hero in Tamil, made his debut in the film in a supporting role.
Kamal's chaplinesque mannerisms also started with this film.
Though made on a medium budget, Kokila went on to become a big success at the box office. It also won a national award for Balu Mahendra.
