Kiyoshi Kurosawa's 2001 Kairo was snapped up by American slasher icon Wes Craven for a hastily put together 2006 remake directed by Jim Sonzero.

The film, starring Kristen Bell and Christiana Milan, was universally panned by critics and while there has never been a more relevant time to explore a wi-fi hack leading to a parallel universe, clearly this film wasn't the most logical option.
