Ring creator Hideo Nakata never had it so good. His 2002 success of the same name was remade in 2005 by Motorcycle Diaries director Walter Salles. Salles' first English effort, this film didn't quite find favour with critics, but did well enough among audiences to ensure profitability.

The film starred John C Reilly, Tim Roth and Jennifer Connelly.
