'Abhishek should be given more time and then you can judge him better'

You gave many interpretations of Sarkar. Who is Sarkar for you?

For me, my Sarkar is my mother and father. I give them the highest respect because they have brought me up and got me to a position where I can sit with you and have a conversation.

The film has Abhishek and Aishwarya too. You may not have missed home when you were on the sets of this film...

No, not at all, as we all were staying together. Whenever the camera was rolling, we turned into our characters. When it was off, we were like family.

Don't you feel that Abhishek has delivered only when he has acted with Mani Ratnam and RGV?

Only time will tell. He has just started his career. He is a relative newcomer and has still not got the opportunity to work with many people. Every actor has to face such allegations at some stage of his career.

When I started my career, I had to listen to people saying that I am known only because Salim-Javed write for me or for that matter because Hrishida [Hrishikesh Mukherjee], Prakash Mehra, Ramesh Sippy or Yash Chopra direct my films. I accept that it's true. But I feel that Abhishek should be given more time and then you can judge him better.
