The show -- which had a raft of hot new numbers by the duo Vishal-Shekhar in recent years, especially Om Shanti Om, and which the two composers sang with enviable energy and passion -- also offered a nostalgic Amitabh.
You saw glimpses of his stellar career going back to such unforgettable films as Anand, Amar Akbar Anthony and Sholay, and you also heard him recite lines from oldies such as Agnipath.
You saw him dance and perform not only to the old songs from films like Bombay To Goa but also to the ones from his new ones, especially Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Babli, which also featured Abhishek and Aishwarya.
Nostalgia was present in good parts throughout the show. As each star was introduced, you saw clips from their early films. Preity did a fabulous reenactment of her dance number from Mission Kashmir.
