Grown up watching to black and white classics?
Well, after whetting your appetite with the 1960 Bollywood classic Mughal-e-Azam's colorised version, which was released for the first time in 2004, another classic gets a new lease, or shall we say colour of life.
And this time it is a Kannada mythological classic Sathya Harischandra, which was produced under the prestigious banner Vijaya Productions in 1965, that is getting colourised. The hit starred legendary actor Dr Raj Kumar and Phandari Bai in the lead roles.
Now, after a gap of 43 years, the film's colourised version will be released all over Karnataka on April 24, which also happens to fall on Dr Raj Kumar's birthday.
This marks the first time in the history of South Indian films that a classic being re-released in colour along with new background music.
The only sad note is that none of the cast except for M P Shankar and Dwarakish, is alive to see the colourised version.
