Vamps take over TV!

They provide much-needed masala in today's mushrooming soaps on television. And the fashion.

You may hate them but without them, there would be no intriguing twists and turns. We're talking about vamps, or the women who play villain in the saas-bahu dramas.

We take a look at television's top vamps. Feel free to list your favourites as well!

Name: Kamya Punjabi
Character: Sindhoora Prathap Singh
Serial: Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan

Kamya plays the vamp in a couple of serials like Astitva Ek Prem Kahani and Woh Rehna Waali Mehlon Ki. But it is Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan, where she's at her best.

In Banoo, Sindhoora plays Sagar's stepsister. She hates Sagar and masterminds his accident, which makes him behave like a child.

She makes her sister-in-law Vidya's life miserable. She appears to be a devoted sister to Sagar in front of the family. Vidya tries to tell everyone about her sister-in-law's true colours but Sindhoora cleverly puts the blame on Vidya and pretends to be innocent.

But she has a soft spot for her husband and son. However, in the recent episodes, she ensures that her paralytic husband does not recover.

Sindoora is a very cunning person whose main aim is to get Vidya out of the house.

She is popular with the audience because of her calm demeanour, cotton sarees and mimimal makeup.
