India's first superhero outdid Hollywood's Superman at the box office!

Both the films released at the same time but Indian audiences preferred our 'desi' hero Hrithik Roshan to Brandon Routh.

"The superhero concept was alien to our film industry. Therefore, Krrish set itself apart from other films," Taran Adarsh, trade pundit, explained.

Incidentally, it was Krrish -- the sequel to Rakesh Roshan's Koi... Mil Gaya -- that started the trend of successful sequels in Bollywood.
