Sunidhi: Tell us your favourite Laxmikant Pyarelal song.
Sukhwindar: There is this song Solah baras ki from the film Ek Duje Ke Liye. It is a very beautiful and romantic poetry, written very well by Anand Bakshi saab. I really like this song, and Lataji as usual has sung it so beautifully.
Manish: Sukhwindarji, I have heard that your first stage show was at the age of seven or eight.
Sunidhi: Yes yes, when you were seven you sang a song on stage, do you remember which song that was? We do.
Sukhwindar: Saregama pa pa. And I remember, I was four years old then, and I had gone with my family to watch a singing competition. I remember very faintly, I was insisting I wanted to sing on stage too. I suppose I was throwing a tantrum, so they allowed me to sing in the break period. They say, after that I had to sing four or five times because of public demand. The chief guest, the then CM of Punjab, said here is the trophy for the best singer, and he gave it to me! So I also got a trophy for my first performance. So you can say that is when I started my career, at the age of 4. I still have that trophy, a huge black one.
