A surprise treat, A R Rahman announced, was the rendition of the Chalo chalen song from Lagaan to be sung by over three dozen students of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

The students were mostly white and had practiced their Hindi well, but somehow, the song did not resonate strongly.
