Though every performer from veteran Hariharan to the relatively new singer Mahalakshmi Iyer drew lusty response from the audiences, Sadhana Sargam had the best exposure. In the absence of other formidable female singers -- there was no Chitra or Kavita Krishnamurthy this time -- she sang some of A R Rahman's best compositions including Jiya jale from Mani Ratnam's Dil Se.
