S P Hinduja on why India will survive the crisis

October 16, 2008

In Britain, the 14th century constitution is still being practiced. Whoever wrote that constitution could not foresee the things which have happened recently.

Volume-wise, population-wise, things have changed, and all the problems, positive, negative, evil, good, have also increased.

We should urge the developed nations including the US, and other Asian countries to get involved and review the old system to give birth to a new or amended system, which wouldd take care of these things for at least another few centuries.

You say it's a lingering process and might take 3-5 years to stabilise. But prominent analysts have been saying that in the next 4-5 years there could even be something like the Great Depression?

We have to understand one thing, there are two sides to the whole episode.

One benefit is that because of the cash crunch, there will be less misuse as people will be very careful and stop wasting money. We are already experiencing a recession, and very soon we will see depression.
