Why Bill Gates likes India

June 27, 2008

The power of talent

In 2005, Gates also announced the company's plan to hire more than 3,000 employees over a period of three to four years in India.

Microsoft chairman Bill Gates also launched a nationwide talent hunt in India as part of an initiative to get students hooked to Microsoft technologies.

"Talent is what powers the success of the global IT economy today. Indian students are setting high standards in the industry. It's very important for India to maintain this edge, and continue to nurture and develop students so they can drive India's progress as an IT leader".
