B P Verma, 3 others freed on bail

Our Correspondent in New Delhi

A Delhi court on Tuesday released on bail ousted Central Board of Excise and Customs chairman B P Verma, asking him to furnish a bail of Rs 500,000 and a surety of the like amount.

On Monday, the court had adjourned the hearing on Verma's bail application till Tuesday.

B P Verma's son Siddharth and Bhavna Pandey, the other accused, were also let off on bail and asked to furnish Rs 200,000 each and a surety of like amount.

Accused Rajeev Sharma, an associate of Siddharth, was also released on bail on furnishing Rs 50,000 and a surety of like amount.

The other two Madras-based accused, K Vijay Pratap and Sravan Kumar, were on Monday remanded in judicial custody till May 16.
