Himachal Pradesh has recently found favour among filmmakers, with many of them making a beeline for the striking locales of the state.
Film: Jab We Met
Remember that song Yeh Ishq? The dance sequence was shot in Manali. And the particular scene in the song depicting a Tibetan carnival was shot in the courtyard of Naggar Castle. The song captures the local flavour of the Himalayas beautifully, through the tribal dancers, costumes and dances.
Also, some portions of the same song were shot in the freezing temperatures of the Rohtang Pass.
Film: Black
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali chose to shoot Black extensively in Shimla. Most of the movie was shot at the IIAS or Viceregal Lodge. One also sees the Christ church on the mall road in the movie.
Film: Raaz 2
Sequel to the superhit film Raaz, Raaz 2, starring Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut was shot in Shimla's Woodville Palace, the picturesque Naldehra, (including its world famous golf course) and Manali.
