Night camping on Mattupetty Hills
As soon as I reached Munnar I called Ani, my trekking partner.
Ani and Sumesh, are two young local guys, experienced pilots in paragliding, and have set up Edelweiss Adventures, that offers paragliding courses, trekking, rock climbing, river crossing, jeep safari etc.
In about 10 minutes, Ani arrived on his bike and I finally checked into a hotel where I freshened up before heading out for dinner at Saravana Bhavan.
Airfare for Rs 599 and less!
Next morning we (Ani, Sumesh and I) set out on our trekking trail. The plan was to trek to the top of Matupetty Hill and past some very thick shola forest before setting camp for our overnight stay.
The initial part of the trek was tough as it was a steep climb. Gradually, as we reached the grasslands, it evened out.
We reached the top easily and immediately got busy shooting pictures. The captivating beauty around me was something I has only dreamt of!
