On my way

We boarded the 315 up Chakradharpur passenger from Howrah Station, Kolkata, the same evening and set out to enjoy the beautiful flowers also known as the Flame of the Forest.

On the way, till Purulia, the Palash trees where sporadic, but as soon as we crossed Purulia town, quite magically the countryside changed.

Airfare for Rs 599 and less!

The undulating rocky terrain spread itself on both sides of the track, and the Palash trees grew in population. All were in full bloom and the combination of red soil and vermilion flowers looked like a perfect monochrome picture.

We reached Barabhum station, hired an Ambassador car for the entire day and set out towards Ayodhya Hills.
