Don't publish every sickening detail about your day-to-day life

June 26, 2008
Look, nobody cares whether you had boiled eggs for breakfast, are planning a trip out of town with friends or are having trouble getting over your ex. If your autobiography was interesting enough it would have been published and if we wanted a copy, we'd buy it.

London-based fashion designer Ambrita Shahani, 26, is a fan of Facebook, but she has her reservations. "I like the fact that you can reconnect with old friends, but people share either too much information or too little. Either every annoying detail of their lives is on their profile page, or then they add you on only to increase their friend lists and never so much as say 'hi'. That's why I avoid several friend requests."

Social networking is meant to keep you in touch with friends, not have them running a million miles every time they see you online. Imagine what would happen if you were to meet them in person -- they'd leave skid marks!
