The sacred bathing place

The following day we went to Hogenakal Falls, which is 145 km from Yercaud, located at the border of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on the Cauvery river.

Hogenakal, set in thick, green woods is considered both as a sacred bathing place and a spa-like spot as its water is supposed to have curative powers. The waterfall here is one of the most beautiful in the country and is quite a popular spot for trekkers too.

The area is surrounded by hills and offers lovely panoramic views. Yercaud may not impress everyone as a tourist spot, but Hogenakal Falls is spectacular and a must-see for everybody.
