'Indians appreciate tricks and aerial moves'

August 19, 2008
The most frequently overheard word from the international dancers and performers, when discussing Indian Salsa, was "potential."

Carlos Gallaino and Elli Torres, possibly Australia's best known dancers, echoed Kenzo's sentiments. "These dancers picked up the moves faster than anywhere we've ever been," said Torres. "We planned a lesson, which we thought would last the entire one hour session, but we had to improvise and teach more, as (the students) picked up everything!"

"We watched YouTube videos of Indian Salsa to get an idea of what Salsa was like here," added Gallaino, whose strength allows him to gracefully toss Torres high in the air. "And right away, we knew we'd fit in well. Indians appreciate the tricks and aerial moves."
