Eat value for money meals

Cheap, hygienic dhabas or no frills attached restaurants, are the best bet. Udipi restaurants (serving mostly south Indian fare) anywhere in the country are a safe bet since they serve fresh hot food for reasonable prices.

Any specialty restaurant would be expensive, so avoid them. Experiment with local cuisine at local joints. This will work out cheaper and not to mention, be a treat for your taste buds.

However, don't compromise on drinking water. Always stick to mineral or bottled water.
