At last on my way
I decided to change my approach and contacted a local person in Kudremukh. It worked. I managed to get the necessary permission, although not in writing. I got a verbal permission, which was risky but good enough as far as I was concerned.
Airfare for Rs 599 and less!
The only disappointment was that my friend Suhas could not join me, as planned earlier.
I took the 11 pm Rajahamsa bus from Bangalore and reached Kalasa (about 20 km from Kudremukh) at 7.30 am the next morning. The road was good and bad in patches.
At Kalasa, I booked a room at the Yatri Nivas to freshen up. By 8.30 am I was ready to board a local bus to Barkal.
