When did you realised that you wanted to act?
That's a funny story. I never ever thought that I could act. I wanted to do my Masters in English or History but could not get admission in those subjects. The only subject available was theatre, so I applied for that. The funny thing is that I started enjoying the course and realised that I wanted to be an actor.
What made you move to Mumbai?
I came to Mumbai almost three and half years back for my film. Since Bollywood is the place to be if one wanted to be an actor, I decided to stay on. I first stayed with my friend in Four Bungalows, Andheri for a few months. Then, I got my own apartment.
How did you get this role?
I was at actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya son's birthday party. He plays Chunnilal in Dev D. That's were Anurag saw me. I was dancing for four or five hours. Anurag liked my energy. He called me the next day and offered me a role in No Smoking. But since the producers did not want a newcomer, I did not get the film. But Anurag later came to me for the role of Paro, and I accepted. Now I am in his Gulal where I have done two mujrars.
