You mentioned that you like Chanda's role more than Paro's. Why?
In college, my professor had once offered me role of Paro. I refused and even fought with him. I love dancing. I had seen Dilipsaab's Devdas and loved Vyajantimala as Chandramukhi. So I wanted Chanda's role as it has a lot of variation and dance. But Anurag had already visualised me as Paro. When he offered me the role, I took it as I had no work then. Even if he had offered me the role of Dev, I would have done it.
You were offered Jab We Met too?
Imtiaz Ali (Jab We Met's director) took my audition for Kareena Kapoor's sister's role. But he thought I was too good for it, and told me that he did not want to waste me in such a small role. That's when I got Dev D.
How is Devdas different from Dev D?
The old Devdas's were all melodramatic but Dev D is very real. All the characters are the one you get to see in your daily life. The common man will be able to relate to the movie.
