Kajol, Sunny: Best Actors of 2001

The verdict is out: Kajol's outrageously spontaneous performance as Anjali in director Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham won her the best actress award at the Star TV Screen Awards for 2001.

The awards ceremony held at Mumbai's Andheri Sports Complex was hosted by Rahul Khanna with Mahima Chaudhary, Sonali Kulkarni and Namrata Shirodkar.

It was Sunny Deol who won the Best Actor as Tara Singh in Anil Sharma's patriotic saga, Gadar - Ek Prem Katha. The film was one of 2001's biggest hits, along with Lagaan.
