Since taking over as India captain he has done no wrong, winning everything that came his way. At the last IPL too he showed great leadership skills, although his team came out second best when Chennai Super Kings lost a close final to Rajasthan Royals.

However, in this IPL second season, Dhoni seems to have lost it all. The Chennai side that started out as one of the favourites is suddenly looking in real danger of missing out on a berth in the semi-finals after losing three out of their five matches.

The bowling appears a real concern, and Dhoni, known to persist with his trusted group, is reluctant to effect any changes. His batting has been a major let down with just 79 runs in four matches and that is where Chennai have been found wanting. Matthew Hayden has given them good starts in every match, but Dhoni's inability to get going coupled with a not-too-good showing by the middle order has hurt the team a great deal.
But Dhoni is a fighter and not one to run away from a challenge. Let's hope he can take this one head on and comes out triumphant.
