When Zaheer Khan walked in to bat with India on 464/6, there is no telling what he expected. A concerted seam and swing attack, or maybe even -- given Alistair Cook'S presence at short square leg -- a bouncer or two.
It certainly wasn't jelly beans.
A puzzled Zaheer picking up the offending boiled sweet and tossed it aside, then settled down to work. A ball later, the jellybeans mysteriously reappeared. He got rid of them; but back they came.
Zaheer, whose temper is legendary within the Indian dressing room, and who once allegedly had a violent showdown with then coach John Wright when his attitude was criticised, somehow managed to keep a tenuous grip on his temper.
