Australia vs England, fifth Test

Jan 2, 2007
Shane Warne (left), Glenn McGrath (c) and Justin Langer listen to the national anthems being played before the start of the fifth and final Ashes Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Australia's trio of retiring stars led their side onto the field after England captain Andrew Flintoff won the toss and elected to bat.

England made one change to the eleven, beaten inside three days at Melbourne last week, James Anderson replacing Matthew Hoggard, who failed a fitness test in the morning due to a thigh strain.

The start of play was delayed by 80 minutes due to heavy overnight rain. England ended the day on 224 for 4. Paul Collingwood was unbeaten on 25 and Andrew Flintoff 45.
