Godbole refuses to comment on DPC's pre-termination notice to MSEB

Former bureaucrat Madhav Godbole, who heads the Godbole renegotiation panel, on Saturday refused to comment on Enron's Dabhol Power Company's issuance of pre-termination notice to the Maharashtra State Electricity Board.

"I have no comments to offer on this issue," Godbole told PTI over phone from Pune.

When informed that DPC was seeking a specific proposal from MSEB, the state government and the Centre to form a basis of future discussions and 'not the Godbole Committee report', the former Home Secretary said, "there is nothing new in this."

"I am confident that DPC team will come for the next round of talks scheduled for May 23," he said.

The first meeting was held on May 11.
