Enron decision on Monday

The tele-conference of the Enron-promoted Dabhol Power Company's global lenders Friday ended with members deciding to announce their final decision on Monday, over allowing the United States energy major to serve a pre-termination notice to the Maharashtra State Electricity Board.

''The only issue discussed on Friday was whether to allow DPC to issue the PTN or not, and it was decided that all lenders should communicate their stance to the Hong Kong-based BA Asia by Monday,'' financial institutional sources told PTI in Bombay on Friday night.

BA Asia will then convey the same to DPC's legal firm White and Case in US, the sources said.

The lenders will e-mail or fax their decisions on Monday, instead of taking recourse of voice-vote, they added.

On whether a final decision would be taken after Monday, the sources said, ''Let us first convey our decisions, the close of business is an afterthought.''
