He is the megastar. And he has lived -- and continues -- to live this status with style. Feted with the Padma Bhushan and conferred an honorary doctorate, Chiru -- as he is known as -- continues to occupy the number one spot. Only his films can guarantee mega openings.
His film Stalin directed by A R Murugadoss opened this September with a phenomenal 400 prints. And it is not surprising, given Chiranjeevi's following. Stalin may not have got the kind of response it was expected to, but by virtue of the sheer number of prints released, the film continues to be popular.
